Or, rather, to be fair, where are even most of the albums? Case in point: The Books. They just released their new album, The Way Out on July 20. But is it to be found on Spotify? No, of course not; They have but one measly song, “Getting The Done Job.”
If I try to imagine that this is some byproduct of label negotiations, this line of though is stymied by the seemingly obvious fact that they have only ever been released on the quite humble likes of Temporary Residence Limited and Tomlab, both of which are relatively small indie labels that I have a hard time imagining would have any problem working with Spotify. I can therefore only wonder.
But the performance at LATEX was a disaster. I forgot to render the file at 48kHz, and instead rendered it at 44kHz, so everything was faster and higher-pitched and a good amount of the high-end frequencies were lost. Regardless, I can now say I have performed my work publicly, woohooo!!!!!
This weekend I am going to the Latex Festival in Austin, Texas to present my piece titled “The Metaphysics of Pop” (on my productions page titled as “Beatness”).
There are now two songs under “productions.”
I realize that the loop that I uploaded is not witch house, as I promised, but nor is it a song, which I also promised. I had some video that I was trying to put it with. I am working on turning the parts of that loop into a song, but that will likely not be for a while, so be patient. I just thought I would give an update. In related news, I have several pieces in the works which may or may not be done in the next few months. I will update with progress as it happens.
Just uploaded a new track; check the “productions” link on the left.
Do you like the band Salem? Cuz I do. Which is why I am starting my own new nifty soundcloud page showcasing my witch house production abilities. In keeping with the witch house vibe I am calling my project, M❂u✞hp❋ece ✜f ✞he H◊st. God, I love Unicode characters! Right now there are only recordings of my friends that I have put on Soundcloud just so I can give them the files. Expect some actual witch house very soon. (P.S. I’m not even sure witch house is even an appropriate genre name, it’s just something I picked up from listening to Fostercare radio on Last.fm)
